In its 2nd year, Wynwood Pride continued to prove that it lives on the cutting edge of what a Pride Festival should be. With the desire to create something meaningful while keeping our community safe during a global pandemic, we took the Pride festival experience online. Our mission became to create an online event just as captivating, community-centered, and talent-forward as a physical event would have been. Wynwood Pride 2020 Online was the first multi-platform and multi-device Pride Festival and fundraiser of its kind. There were multiple stages/channels with unique content simultaneously streaming during the 12-hour event. Festival-goers were able to seamlessly switch between four channels of live programming to create their own personal festival experience – something that has never been tried before. We also set out to provide local as well as national and international LGBTQ talent, allies, and organizations a much-needed immersive space to perform and promote their activism to the world.

The festival attracted approximately 35,086 Live Viewers total from all of our channels and re-broadcasts. OUT OF 138+ ARTISTS BOOKED FOR THE EVENT: 72% were from diverse backgrounds (POC), 54% identified as female, 38% identified as male, 8% identified as non-binary.

THE FUTURE
In 2021 we hope to be back with a larger-than-life physical festival, pending the global pandemic. We hope to continue to set the stage for Miami’s ongoing cultural growth. Due to the success of our first two years, we can expect that 2021 will see an exponential rise in attendance, publicity, community partners, sponsors, and buzz.
The Bail Project’s national revolving bail fund is a critical tool to prevent incarceration and combat racial and economic disparities in the bail system.
Contigo Fund was created in response to the unique needs of the pulse-affected communities in central Florida who work to heal, educate, and empower LGBTQ+ latinx individuals, immigrants, and people of color. Their newly launched organization for all black lives fund supports frontline LGBTQ+ organizing groups, particularly those led by and for black transgender individuals who build visibility, promote safety, and amplify the demands of those most impacted by both racism and gender discrimination.
Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
Impact Justice dares to dream of a humane and restorative system of Justice in the United States. Through innovation, research, policy, and advocacy, we are forging a new path to a Justice system that is fair to all of us.
