2021: at a glance

MISSION

In its third year, Wynwood Pride returned with an expansive neighborhood-wide plan that put a spotlight on local Wynwood businesses. Restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, and other spaces worked together with the Wynwood Pride team to officially welcome the LGBTQ+ Community and its allies back to Wynwood after a year apart during a global pandemic. The event was in benefit of three organizations making strides in the fields of YOUTH: YES Institute / HEALTH: Planned Parenthood of South, East, and North Florida / JUSTICE: Equality Florida. It was a new kind of Pride experience that cemented Wynwood as a top LGBTQ+ destination for both locals and visitors alike. The weekend culminated with blowout performances from Charli XCX, Honey Dijon, Kandy Muse, Miss Toto, and more. The event kickoff took place at The Oasis on June 18, 2021, followed by the neighborhood-wide takeover on June 19th. The Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) partnered with Wynwood Pride once again to host a wide range of activations in iconic neighborhood hot spots like The Oasis, 1-800-Lucky, Coyo Taco, Freehold, R House, Pizza & Beer, Veza Sur, No. 3 Social, Pilo’s Tequila Garden, and more. The weekend was a glittering marathon of live concert series, neighborhood-wide drag shows, all-day dance parties, surprise celebrity appearances, and immersive art installations.
